Managing Queues

Queues are where your aggregated content comes to life. Each topic has a corresponding queue that displays all collected content, allowing you to manually curate, organize, and prepare content for your widgets. This guide covers everything you need to know about effective queue management.

A queue is a one-to-one mapping with a topic that provides:

  • Real-time content display from all configured sources
  • Manual curation controls to show/hide individual items
  • Pinning capabilities for up to 10 priority items
  • Drag-and-drop reordering for pinned content
  • Content preview before publishing to widgets

Balance Sources

Ensure pinned content represents a good mix from your different sources. Don’t let one source dominate.

Monitor Performance

Track which pinned items perform best in your widgets and adjust your pinning strategy accordingly.

Pinned Items Not Appearing First:

  • Check if the widget is using the correct topic
  • Verify pinned items are also set to “show”
  • Refresh widget cache if using cached implementation

Cannot Pin More Items:

  • You’ve reached the 10-item limit
  • Unpin an existing item before pinning new ones
  • Consider creating multiple topics for different content priorities

Reordering Not Working:

  • Only pinned items can be reordered
  • Ensure you’re dragging within the pinned section
  • Check for JavaScript conflicts on the page

Content Not Updating:

  • Verify source feeds are active and accessible
  • Check topic filtering settings
  • Review content collection logs

For Large Queues (500+ items):

  • Use search and filters to navigate efficiently
  • Implement regular cleanup routines
  • Consider archiving very old content
  • Use date-based filtering in your topic configuration
